The University of Duisburg-Essen is hosting the traditional congress of the German Sociological Association for the first time and is delighted to welcome guests to the Duisburg campus. With 12 professorships and more than 40 academic staff, the Institute of Sociology at the University of Duisburg-Essen is one of the largest sociological teaching and research institutions in the German-speaking world.

The local organization team includes Prof. Dr. Helen Baykara-Krumme, Eva Depenbrock, Katrin Rinaldi and Dr. Anette Schönborn from the Institute of Sociology at the UDE as well as Anne Walter as coordinator of the congress office.
