How to get there

The 42nd Congress of the German Sociological Association will take place on the Duisburg campus of the University of Duisburg-Essen. Check-in will be on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 3 pm in the foyer of the Philharmonie Mercatorhalle Duisburg (Landfermannstraße 6, 47051 Duisburg) and from Tuesday, September 22, 2025, from 8 am in the Gerhard-Mercator-Haus (University of Duisburg-Essen, Campus Duisburg, Lotharstraße 57, 47057 Duisburg). Please note: The Philharmonie MercatorHALLE is located near Duisburg Central Station, the Gerhard-Mercator-HAUS is located on the Duisburg campus of the University of Duisburg-Essen.

If you are traveling by car, please note that there are only a limited number of parking spaces available. Due to the one-way street regulation of Carl-Benz-Straße, you can only reach these from Lotharstraße via Forsthausweg. You can use the parking lots of Duisburg Zoo (Mülheimer Str.).
